Customers are welcome seven days a week and can take advantage of our private after-hours shopping service while enjoying a drink and a bite to eat. We take our time to discuss the customer's wishes and base our recommendations on qualities like head shape and personality. In this way, we always find the perfect frame.’ C u s t o m e y e w e a r For a truly unique look, you can have your glasses inset with diamonds at Schmidt Optiek. ‘When it comes to lenses, the possibilities are endless,’ explains De Vos. ‘From different colours and colour gradations to inset diamonds and engraved logos or initials. We are known for our unique cuts and we do almost everything in-house, which means customers don't have to wait weeks for their custom eyewear. The only thing we outsource to our partners is diamond setting. Rimmed glasses have similar options, albeit not as extensive.’ P r i o r i t i s i n g e y e c a r e At Schmidt Optiek, eye care is a top priority. A visit to one of the shops for corrective glasses starts with a detailed eye examination. ‘When it comes to eye care, we go one step further,’ explains De Vos. ‘If a customer has a problem with visual acuity, eye coordination, increased eye pressure, dry eyes or headaches, an optometric exam can be very useful. Our optometrists use a retinal scan to assess eye health. The results help us recommend the right lenses.’ A d u l t s a n d c h i l d r e n Both adults and children can request an eye exam at Schmidt Optiek for things like lazy eye, an eye movement disorder or strabismus. De Vos mentions another issue: ‘Fifty percent of children are expected to be short-sighted within the next twenty years. This can cause problems later in life, such as an increased risk of eye disorders. Schmidt Optiek can help prevent these problems by offering special glasses and the right eye care. In most cases, we can schedule an orthoptic exam that same week, after which we can immediately offer a solution.’ Schmidt Optiek plans to open another branch in the next two years. Deze kinderen kunnen vaak dezelfde week nog bi j ons terecht voor een orthoptisch onderzoek, waarna we uiteraard ook direct een oplossing bieden.” Schmidt Optiek wi l binnen nu en twee jaar de volgende vestiging openen.
